A: sounds like the fluid within your ears is infected. btw, you can have an ear infection even if there isn't stuff coming out of your ear. usually it's an inner ear infection.

Q: Does sudafed show up as amphetamine in a urine test.?
I took a test at my doctors office and I dont understand how amphedamines would show up in my system. The only different thing I took was Entex Pse 400-120 an old prescription I had from April that I got from my regular doctor to use when I have sinus trouble. No I didnt get a buzz or get high what r u talking about?

A: If it was a test based on some chemical reaction making some color change then it is highly likely to give a false positive. Anything less than some form of chromatography (to separate individual chemical components from a mixture) followed by Mass Spectrography (to measure the size of the molecule and its breakdown sizes), and IR spectra (molecular fingerprint) is just guessing with a cheap test. chromatography alone can give false postives.

Q: Other medications and the pill?
I've been on Orthotri-cyclen for months now. I was recently prescribed some drugs for a sinus infection. My friend said that the effectiviness of my pill can be reduced form these pills, but I can't find anything that says that on the medication itself (in the pamphlet or a warning on the bottle itself), or on the internet. Can anyone help me out? The pills I'm taking are Cefzil 250MG, Entex PSE, Naprosyn, and AcipHex. He said particularly the Entex could have an effect, but I can't find that information anywhere! Please help....

A: Hi, I work in womens health, and I deal with birth control and abortion related issues. It is widely known that antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of the pill, particularly tetracycline antibiotics. They do not 'cancel the BC out', but action of the antibiotics on the LIVER causes the hormone in the birth control to be excreted more quickly. This is online for you to look up. Simply look up "Cefzil and birth control interaction" on google. Cefzil is a Cephalasporin antibiotic. ENTEX will not affect birth control, It is ONLY a decongestant!! The antibiotic Cefzil is what should concern you. The typical reccomendation for women is to use condoms during the antibiotic use, and then for 7 days after that.

Q: Are constricted pupils, confusion, and extreme thirst serious side effects? I just started taking Seroquel.?

A: I know confusion and thirst can be common side effects but they shouldn't be debilitating. If it's getting bad talk to your doctor.

Q: Reported this droopy face to doc.She ID'ed Bells and ordered 0. Went to Er 2 days later. Is delay critical?
Had severe cold for 2 weeks. Improved and 3 days later, I developed unusual sore throat on rt side. Felt like a cold sore not just inflamation. Nausea, dizziness, incredible headache started. Very sick. Saw doc onthe 2nd day of new symptoms, Monday. Rx : Z-pac and Entex. On Tuesday no improvement. Had little trouble closing rt eye. On Wednesday , mouth drooping . Called doc. I was told to continue prescription given..I was doing that already.. Thursday morn I woke up with rt facial paralysis... Went to ER. Given Prednisone Stat and Rx for an antivral and Prednisone. I was told that recovery depends on EARLY treatment. Headache, nausea, dizziness gone but I am miserable. My eye hurts.. My ear and back of ear hurts. I am scared and scarey looking.

A: You are wise and have followed up appropriately with the medical care you're receiving, and it seems that you are quick to take action when it's needed. Bell's Palsy was once attributed to being exposed to drafts....but any neuropathy should be watched closely, which you are doing. My experience was something quite different, beginning with symptoms mirroring Bell's Palsy (facial numbing, slight paralysis), but then followed by ocular neuritis (inflamed optic nerve, and temporary vision loss). The treatment was an I.V. infusion of prednisone for 4 days, followed by a tapering with tablet form of prednisone. I urge you to eat very well, and take extremely good care of yourself right now particularly keeping your immune system as strong as possible - and especially as you're feeling understandably upset and frightened. Your doctor will be watching for ocular symptoms (vision change). **IF** this happens, do not delay getting medical treatment immediately. I am currently on an antibiotic for a sinus infection and Entex for fluid in my ears. The Entex is making my life MISERABLE, it makes me extremely dizzy and anxious. I can't eat and I can't sleep and I am horribly moody. I've only been on it for 4 days of the prescribed 10. I can't deal with it anymore. I can't call my doc cause it's Saturday. Can I stop the Entex and just finish out the antibiotic?

Q: So I went to the DR. for an Ear Infection and....?
I had fluid backed up in ears, making me Dizzy, Which let me add i had dizzy for a week prior. I got some nasel spray for "sinus infections" and went back for a re-check and my ears had drained but i was still dizzy, so he gave me Extex thinking it could be muscus,and or a virus causing my dizzy spells, Ive been taking the Entex for 3 days ,and still no luck! It really frusterating,I had blood work done for Anemia. that was Negative, Pregnancy blood test, that was Negative. The dizziness also comes with mid back pain, But ive never had ANY sort of Injury. Im 21 y/o, Healthy, Dont smoke,Dont Drink,dont do drugs....and all i can think about is WHAT COULD THIS BE!!! im praying its not a brain tumor or something...Any advice or POssibilites what this could be... Oh and its not Vertigo either, I have had vertigo spells at night, and its a complete different dizziness.. I feel light headed,Dizzy when i walk,or shut my eyes, and very disoriented....
