A: Get circumcised and get rid of that disease trap. I was circumcised at 18 and can assure you it is cleaner, healthier, looks better and feels better. There is no loss of sensitivity, be circumcised enhances the sexual experience. I had no hesitation to have my boys ( 2&4) circumcised as I know there is no dowside, only a lifetime of benefits.

Let's say I use this on my face (cheeks and nose) for a week. Are there any risks or major side effects I should be aware of? Well, it makes my skin VERY sensitive to the sun.. found that out the hard way.

A: Well, this is a type of steroid, so I suppose that you shouldn't use it too much. But there doesn't seem to be any side effects.

Cuz I've been doing that for like a year =/ for my eczema, if I stop putting it on, the eczema just comes back again.

A: These are the side effects: Acne-like pimples, allergic skin rash, boils, burning, damaged skin, dryness, excessive hairiness, infected hair follicles, infection of the skin, irritation, itching, light colored patches on skin, prickly heat, rash around the mouth, skin atrophy and wasting, softening of the skin, stretch marks, tingling or stinging. As far as for long term use, I could not find anything about that. I would suggest that you call or go and talk with the pharmacist, they can be a wealth of information.

A: Once in the morning and once at night. If you have manzanita plants in your area, pick a few leaves and boil them in water. Then dab the liquid on the rash. It dries up poison oak within a couple of days. I hope it works on poison ivy.

Q: Doctors/pharmacists etc - which is stronger - Betnovate lotion or mometasone lotion?
Both have been prescribed for impetigo in the scalp which cleared up then returned. Antibiotics were prescribed too. Betnovate scalp application (betamethasone valerate 0.1%) prescribed the first time; Mometasone 0.1% scalp lotion prescribed the second time. The doctor (not my usual one and I really wasn't impressed with him) said the mometasone was stronger. The pharmacist said the betnovate was stronger but then relented saying "perhaps I'm wrong" when I told him that the doctor had said the opposite. Was he just trying to be loyal - the pharmacy is linked physically and is part of the doctors' surgery. They didn't have any mometasone in stock and I have to collect it today. Would like to know if I am doing the right thing as I have betnovate already. Don't want to buy a weaker lotion for a problem that is really persistent and has already had three lots of antibiotics thrown at.

A: Mometasone 0.1% is slightly stronger than Betnovate (betamethasone valerate 0.1%). The confusion probably comes from the fact that betamethasone comes in different forms, and betamethasone dipropionate is much stronger than Mometasone.

Q: what are the side effects of neoloridin, montek lc ,mometasone furoate monohydrate nasal spray?
i am 21 year old.i am suffering from asthma and allergic rhinitis.initially i had only allergic rhinitis(7 years b'fore).then i was using homeo medicine for rhinitis.it was not that much effective and before 2 years i became an asthma patient.since then i am using allopathy medicine.doctor prescribed me foracort 400(1capsule every night ) for asthma and mometasone furoate monohydrate nasal spray(one spray to each nostril every night) for rhinitis.now asthma is controlled by regular usage of medicine and i was able to reduce the dosage to foracort200.but still problems with rhinitis.doctor told me that if no problem with rhinitis then no need to continue the spray.now when i stop the spray after some days again rhinitis problems starts.due to this difficulty in breathing arises .so problems in night.eventhough i start nasal spray then it will take 2-3 days to cure.so doctor prescribed me neoloridin tabs or montek lc.plz prescribe how frequent shouldi use the nasal spray and sideeffects

A: Mometasone furoate monohydrate(Nasonex) takes about 12 hours after the first dose to start effects, and builds up to maximum effect over 1 to 2 weeks. Some Nasonex makers recommend 2 sprays in each nostril twice a day. Most adverse reactions to the nasal spray are localized-nose bleed, irritation, possible headache.

Q: mometasone furoate for razor burn?
will this help?

A: try the product called magic shave....

Q: Is mometasone furoate ointment usp, 0.1% safe if you are pregnant?
I have a rash and my dermatologist prescribed this prescription to me. And to apply it twice daily. I have the rash on my chest, stomach, back and bottom area mainly.

A: Your dermatologist, OB, and pharmacist should all have the info available. When I was pregnant, I asked pharmacists questions all the time, and every one of them happily took the time to look things up for me - even over the counter medications. Make the call. You will feel better if you talk to someone who gets paid to know, than if any of us say yes or no. Best of Luck!
