Q: Can you take 2 doses of reactine in one day?
I have bad allergies - and I have reactine. I used to use it everyday, and still do, but my allergies have gotten worse. So would it be okay if I took two 10 mg regular-strength Reactine?
A: Reactine actually has a 20mg tablet which I believe may be covered by some prescription plans. Many people who have coverage but don't need that high of a dose will get a prescription and then cut the pills in half.
Depending on how long you have been taking the Reactine, you body may have developed some tolerance to the drug which can occur, therefore you need a larger dose to get the same relief. Changing brands for a while can help. It is like using the same shampoo/conditioner for a long time - it builds up in your hair and does not work as great when you first started using it so you change brands.
Q: Do you think Pfizer should be allowed to give free samples of Reactine to people walking the street?
I was in downton Vancouver yesterday during their long weekend celebrations and was suprised when handed 2 boxes of the antihistimine Reactine. Thousands of people recieved them and I'm sure lots threw them away on the crowded street. What if a kid to picked up a box or two. Maybe this medication is not lethal, but am I the only one that wonders why they couldn't just hand out free vouchers?
Does this happen in the States like it did in Canada? Aren't they opening themselves to lawsuits?
A: In the US, I believe this would be proper so long as the drug was not "prescription only;" When I worked on Wall Street, I did come across similar handouts for over-the-counter remedies, so it does happen in the US as well.

Q: How often can I take a Reactine Extra Strength allergy pill?
On the directions, it says to take one Extra Strength pill per day.
I took one last night, and I don't know if I have to wait 24 hours (until tonight) or if I'm allowed to take one right now (It's 2:00 pm). I need it, because my eyes are itchy and I have to go outside soon...
A: Its been about 18 hours, I would think you are okay to take it. Its not like you are taking one every 18 hours of your life, but you are taking one now because the medicine wore away and you need to pill. I would say you should be fine...
Q: Can I overdose on reactine if I take it immediatley after its 12hr working period?

Are they harsh enough to damage me at this level? (PS I know I should see a doctor, but I have no time or money at the moment)
A: Okay, may I send you some information that might be beneficial or at least give you some options and a better understanding?

Q: Is it safe to take Reactine Allergy pills?
We're to go to my in-laws for Christmas, and they have a cat. I am highly allergic to cat dander, as it triggers my asthma and if I don't have an allergy pill in me, I can't breathe. There is a possiblity that I could be pregnant, however I won't know until the end of the month as I was only ovulating last week- so if I am pregnant, I would only be a couple of weeks pregnant. I'm wondering if taking the allergy pill for 3-4 days could harm anything even this early in a pregnancy (which I don't even know if I am). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
A: Just call our OBGYN and ask. Or even your PCP.

A: Reactine (another brand name for Zyrtec) is cetirizine, a newer-generation antihistimine. Side effects are mild but may include drowsiness or dry mouth
Q: Does reactine allergy medication affect birth control?
A: I did some research and it should not interfere with your birth control in any way.
hope this helps..

Q: Safe to take 20 mg of reactine?
im 14 years old and i have bad allergies, i have the bumps ( or rash ) all over my face and part of my chest.
i want it all to go away before tomorrow at school. is it safe to take 2, 10mg pills of reactine?
OR GOT ANY OTHER TIPS?
A: I would only take 1 or use another agent like diphenhydramine (benadryl) or loratadine if 1 tab isn't effective enough for you. You might want to consider asking about a hydrocortisone cream short term to help with the rash.
Q: does reactine affect the drug mdma, (either pure or in e)?
my friend took two e pills ( he thinks cut with speed .. and obv other binding agents ... ) ,,, two hours later .. nothing .. little buzzz.. peeing a bit more then normal .... now he is wondering what the heck is going on... he did take one reactine about 3 - 2 hours before originally popping.... thanks in advice...
thanks in advance**
later on he also reported a mild stomach ache
A: Pretty sure that was just a fake pill - now I don't know specifically about anti-histamines and ecstacy, but drugs typically react synergistically and almost never "cancel" each other out. Besides, ecstacy is one of the most heavily adulterated drugs available.
Q: Singular and Reactine?
I have severe allergies and they alwayss flare up at t his time...I've been taking Singular for the past three years but this year it doesn't seem to be helping that much...is it ok to mix a 10 mg Singular tablet with 10 mg Reactine or another allergy medicine??
A: Singulair (monteukast) does not seem to have any serious drug interactions. However, you should ask your doctor about whether it is better to take another medication or to increase your Singulair dosage.
Q: Is it safe to take Epival, Celexa, Benadryl, and Reactine? MAJOR allergies right now... Nothing is working.?
A: It is worth it to make an appt. with your allergist. There are many different types of allergy medicines that work different ways. He/she can give you samples or pick effective meds out for you. Scary to mix so many!
I found that Allegra (fexofenadine) is my allergy medicine and doesn't make me drowsy.
I also like Chlopheniramine--which will probably be found at any pharmacist behind the counter. It costs about $4 for the whole bottle, or less, and works great.
Q: What is the best antihistamine to take for summer allergies?
I have taken Reactine in the past and all it does is put me in a very zoned out state and I want to sleep. It does not help. Any suggestions.
A: Claritin is the best. The generic name is loaratadine. Look for loratadine as the active ingredient on the box. 1 pill lasts 24 hours and it is the only over the counter non-drowsy anti-histamine.
