Q: Does the Primatene Inhaler come with something called Salbutamol now?
I recently purchased a Primatene inhaler and inside the box there was another seperate inhaler called Salbutamol, which I've never heard of. Are the makers of Primatene now including these other inhalers in their packages? Or could this be a fluke in packaging?
A: That's really odd. In the US, Primatene is an old, over the counter inhaler.
Salbutamol (aka albuterol) is a prescription only inhaler. Newer, more effective & safer than Primatene.
Q: Is salbutamol inhaler the same as Ventolin inhaler?
my 2 year old was put on a salbutamol inhaler about 6 mths ago after been to the doctors with a cough he was given more inhalers a brown pump and Ventolin is this the same as salbutamol?

Q: Asthma ventolin salbutamol inhaler causing problems?
I've had asthma since i was seven and have always used the same inhaler i'm now sixteen and recently my inhaler has changed so it is cfc free, only now i'm suffering from a really sore throat that i think has something to do with the new now cfc free inhaler? Has anyone else had any allergic reactions? I know i should probably go to the doctor but i just want your opinions first, and what other types of inhalers do you use?
A: I get a sore throat too. It's really sucky.
Try and wash your mouth out or brush your teeth after using your inhalers. This should really help.
If this doesn't improve the sore throat, Defineitely go back to the doctor and discuss the problems your having.
I use a Severent inhaler as well as a steroid one (but I can't remember what it's called, sorry!)
Q: i am asthmatic and i am taking salbutamol inhaler three times a day.is it safe for me? ?
which type of inhaler should i use for long time treatment and without any harm?
A: It's safe, the instructions on mine say to take two puffs four times a day as needed.
But, like me, if you're needing it that much, you should probably be on another puffer--a corticosteroid like the others have said. They bring down the inflammation in your airways, therefore preventing you from having symptoms in the first place.
Q: Does a Salbutamol rescue inhaler work if you are on a beta blocker?
I'm on a betablocker because a failed an excercise stress test and am waiting for a MIBI test.
I'm taking Atenenol and yes its from two different doctors (my bad)
A: You shouldn't take beta blockers if you have asthma.
However, most beta blockers used for the heart are beta 1 receptor selective blockers and salbutamol is a beta 2 receptor agonist, so they won't necessarily interfere completely.
However, people with significant asthma should not take beta blockers.
Q: Is a Salbutamol Inhaler an Anti Inflammatory?
A: No. Salbutamol is a bronchodilator. It works by dilating/opening up the airways, which helps air flow. Corticosteroids inhalers are anti-inflammatories .
Q: is it true that the use of salbutamol inhaler causes tachycardia?
A: yes it does. salbutamol/albuterol can cause tachycardia even arrhythmias atrial fibrillation etc.... cardiac arrest have been asociated with excessive inhalant use and not to be use on acute symptoms and children younger than 4 yrs old :)
Q: how long are you suposed to use salbutamol HFA (inhaler) ??
whats the longest period of time your suposed to use the salbutamol HFA inhaler??
A: My mom has used them everyday for 20+ years. I don't think there's a time line for use... Just as needed.
Q: Is Salbutamol Sulfate safe during pregnancy ?
How safe is using my salbutamol inhaler (100 mcg) during pregnancy (I'm 6 weeks) ? Regular dose is 2 inhalations.
Right now I'm using it several times a week - almost daily, some days more than once.
Would it be safer to look into a steroid treatment to cut down on my salbutamol use ?
A: Need a quick and fast answer?? Call any local Pharmacy and ask to speak with the Pharmacist (not pharmacy tech). They can answer any question about meds and pregnancy. I relied on them a lot when I was pregnant. Best of Luck!
Q: Why do people abuse Salbutamol Inhalers?
I am aware that this is a growing problem and I know there are a lot of medications that people can become addicted to.
I was just wondering what benefit people get from these inhalers and in what way are they abused and why?
Thanks in advance for all yours answers.
A: Many inhalers, those contain steroids. These steroids are meant to shrink the lung tissue to make breathing easier. However, steroids can make you jittery, anxious, and not able to sleep. Some pople for whatever reason like this feeling.
Q: Can you get high off the air thats left in your inhaler once the medication is gone?
if you need to know, it is a salbutamol hfa inhaler.
im just wondering, im not actually going to do it so spare me the dont do it comments. im just currious (:
A: No, if it did make you high then the company that made it would be liable if it caused you to have an injury, so its not going to happen.
Q: Does anyone know if you can still use salbutamol inhalers past their used by date?
I bought two two years ago but only use it maybe once a week so I recently finished the old one ready to use the next but found it's past its used by date by a few months. Does it still work or should I buy a new one???
A: You should purchase a new one. Their is a reason that they put dates on them and that is because they lose their effeicacy as time progresses. If you use the out dated one you will still get some benifit but absolutely no where near the effect of what you would get with a new one. You should never take chances with your breathing.
Q: I want to know whether Salbutamol sulphate inhalers contain steroids?
How safe salbutamol sulphate inhalers like Asthalin Inhalers uses.
Does it contain steroids? if so what is it
A: It does not contain steroids. Salbutamol is a short-acting bronchodilator, which means it relaxes the smooth muscles in the airways, opening them up, making it easier to breathe.
Broncholdilators are relatively safe, if used as prescribed. You may experience side-effects such as tremors, headache, nervousness, tachycardia (increased heart rate), and insomnia.
Q: Is it true that Salbutamol can damage the lungs?
I am a lifelong asthmatic, and I have recently been informed by my step-grandmother (who is a nurse, but a rather incompetent one) that Salbutamol (the drug I am prescribed to relieve the symptoms of my asthma) can and will damage my lungs over time.
Salbutamol is taken orally, via a metal cylinder inside a plastic inhaler which contains the Salbutamol sulphate mist, which I inhale. Can this truly damage my lungs?
Please help, so I know whether or not to switch to a different drug.
A: Do you really think that it would stay on the market if it did? No.
There are 2 really good, reliable sources for drug info: your doctor and your pharmacist/chemist.
