HHMT was thus formed to provide a structure where many clinicians and
scientists from around the world, could meet and exchange views on the latest
work. John Harris received an MBE for his work in ovarian cancer in 1996, and a CBE
in 2005. Since 2000, his daughter Allyson Harris Kaye has continued to build this unique
international research community.
HHMT was recently honoured by the International Gynaecologic Cancer Society at
its 10 th biennial meeting in Edinburgh, October 2004. John Harris collected a
special award, made to the Trust, in front of 1800 delegates, to recognise the
unique contribution it has made to the development of understanding of ovarian
cancer.
In order to raise the profile of the disease, and the need for further research,
HHMT is using a new name for its UK awareness and fundraising work. We feel it reflects
our commitment to making a difference. HHMT will continue its work in the medical
professional field, internationally.
