Since 1986 the HHMT meetings have been dispersed extensively across North America and Europe, to seek the best science and bring together a wealth of knowledge. The programme unites the world leaders in research and treatment of ovarian malignancies. Prestigious institutions have acted as host to the meetings and from each encounter new collaborations have been formed.

Map of the World

The support of our many eminent participants has helped develop progress and has been one of the key elements to the success of the HHMT in its fight against ovarian cancer.

Stratford-upon-Avon 2003, UK

Professor Fran Balkwill organized an extremely stimulating meeting with 44 delegates from around the world. We are hopeful that many fruitful collaborations will be born from this forum.
Houston 2001, USA

Professor Bob Bast and Professor Gordon Mills from the MD Anderson hosted a very professional meeting exploring all aspects of the disease. Many of the delegates had attended previous forums and this provoked much interest, cross questioning and collaborations.
Stockholm 1999, Sweden

The academic setting of the Nobel Forum for the Fellowship presentations will be one of the outstanding memories of this meeting. The forum was hosted with warmth and energy by Professor Nina Einhorn, who sadly died in 2002. Her contribution to the Trust and her dedication to defeating cancer were immense.
Los Angeles 1997, USA

The largest meeting ever held by the HHMT was hosted by Professor Jonathan Berek and his team at UCLA. New applications and strategies were focused on, bringing science into the clinic with special focus on gene therapy.
Glasgow 1995, Scotland

Professor Robin Leake and the University of Glasgow were our hosts. Professor Bruce Ponder whose work in part identified BRCA1 and BRCA2 was able to report on his recent work. The development of the genetic science paving the way for increased research.
Toronto 1993, Canada

Canadian clinicians and researchers have been significant contributors to our forums. Professor Danny DePetrillo and his team at Princess Margaret Hospital emphasised the importance of retaining quality of life for ovarian cancer sufferers.
Charleston 1991, USA

The University of South Carolina with Professor Bill Creasman who was head of Gynaecological oncology hosted this meeting. This programme saw an increased content on the science and biology of the disease and the genes involved.
Graz 1989, Austria

Our hosts were the University of Graz, headed by Professor Erich Burghardt. This meeting in Central Europe facilitated the attendance of a number of clinicians from Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia and Croatia as well as a large attendance from North America and the UK.
Brocket Hall 1987, England

The inaugural meeting was organised in conjunction with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. From the outset these meetings attracted scientists and clinicians from many different countries.
